Cosmic Kitchen began with a simple idea. We believe that plant-based food, good music and open-hearted spaces bring people together. What started as a small vegan café is now an award-winning restaurant and cultural hub in Plymouth. The community here shapes everything we do. From the menu to the music, our choices are intentional. We focus on being welcoming and inclusive.

Our menu is plant-based and features bold flavours and whole ingredients. We serve generous, nourishing and exciting food for vegans, the plant-curious and anyone with an appetite. This approach has earned us multiple awards and a loyal community.

The energy of the space has evolved over time. Cosmic Kitchen is a place to eat and connect. We host DJs, late-night sessions, cocktail evenings and intimate music events. These nights bridge the gap between a restaurant, a bar and a dancefloor. Music is central to our identity. Our events prioritise quality and atmosphere.

We do things properly. This means supporting artists, nurturing our staff and maintaining high standards. We provide a space where people can relax and express themselves. Cosmic Kitchen is a meeting point and a shared experience.

Our Journey

• April 2019: We launched as a pop-up in The Morgue. Our Vegan Mondays grew quickly. We soon expanded to Tuesdays and eventually moved to a full-time schedule.
  
  

• January 2020: We collected the keys to our current home at Thomas Mission Hall. We opened the doors of the church in early 2020 to a busy start before the March national lockdown began.
  
  

• 2020 Pandemic: During the second lockdown, we built our deli. We operated as a takeaway service providing healthy plant-based meals to the community.
  
  

• 2021 Recognition: Tripadvisor named us the Number 1 Best Vegan Spot in the UK. We also secured the Number 3 spot globally in the same category.
  
  

• 2024 Awards: We won the Muddy Stilettos award for Best Casual Dining in Devon.
  
  

• January 2026: We recently celebrated our sixth birthday at this venue.
